Lycoris

Lycoris are grown for their showy umbels of tubular-funnel-shaped flowers with narrow, spreading, sometimes reflexed petal lobes, borne on leafless stems from spring to early autumn.  In areas with hot summers, grow them in a sunny border or rock garden.  Where summers are cool, they are best grown in containers in a cool greenhouse.  Excellent perennializer.  Dig and store for winter in zones 4-8.

Planting & Fertilizing
It is extremely important to make sure there is good drainage where you plant your bulbs and that you fertilize the bulbs 3 times with a well-balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer.  Fertilize once when planting, once when they just come above the surface and once right after flowering.
