"Sun Brightened Daylily"
PHOTO CONTEST WINNER
November 2008
Tom Cook

"Mystery Iris Multiples"
PHOTO CONTEST WINNER
December 2008
Jeannie Siegman
Stanford, California
Jeannie writes, "This iris (hundreds and hundreds of them) thrives in an 80-foot long bed backed by a pittosporum hedge in my garden.  It originated with a dozen rhizomes given to me by a friend around 1995.  I've dug and divided them several times, and they seem to thrive on neglect.  If anyone can identify it, I'd be interested to know.  I was told it was "General Douglas MacArthur" but a search for such an iris yields nothing - only a tropical water lily by that name."
