Babiana Stricta
- 'Baboon Flower'
These are nicknamed baboon flowers because it is said that baboons love
to eat the corms. They have cup-shaped, six-petaled blooms that
open successively from the bottom to the top. The flowers range in
a mixture of colors including pink, purple, blue, red white and cream.
It is extremely important to make sure there is
good drainage where you plant your bulbs and that you fertilize
the bulbs 3 times with a well-balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer.
Fertilize once when planting, once when they just come above the
surface and once right after flowering.
